Parkersburg Bridge Partners designed, rehabilitated, and modernized The Memorial Bridge, delivering a like-new structure for the community and traveling public to enjoy for a minimum of 50 years. To the extent possible, we employed a union workforce and used local materials, suppliers, and equipment. Important information will be communicated on a regular basis.
Project work during the construction phase included:
  • New paint / coating system
  • Complete deck removal and replacement
  • Superstructure – Replace bearing pads, steel bearing rehabilitation, steel superstructure repair
  • Replace existing bridge parapet handrail
  • Substructure – Perform required concrete pier and column repairs
  • Footings and Foundation – Scour investigation and remediation at river piers, if needed
  • Lighting – New roadway lighting and decorative lighting will be installed
  • Approach Roadways – The roadway will be milled and repaved throughout the project limits
  • Additional Betterments – pier art program, lighting for planned multi-use trail, and more
